Mobile technologies have made their way into many aspects of everyday life, transforming how we communicate with one another, how we stay organized, and where we get our news. It makes sense then that the mobile industry has also made its way into the healthcare realm, creating a new industry referred to as mHealth, or mobile health.
The implementation of electronic health record (EHR) software is making it easier for physicians to provide patients with access to their medical records, particularly through the use of online patient portal software. Getting patients to view their records is one of the priorities of the EHR Incentive Program, which emphasizes greater patient engagement as part of Meaningful Use.
Recent surveys show growing discontent among medical professionals using electronic health record systems (40 percent of physicians say they wouldn’t purchase the same system again if given the choice), but supporters of the software urge physicians to be patient. Current EHRs, they say, are just a starting point, paving the way to more robust, user-friendly systems.

Review by Dr. on October 03, 2012
We have been using Medios EHR and PM for about a year and a half. I chose them because they seemed to offer what I was looking for. Effective and full implementation, custom templates, Good customer service reviews, and they provided me with references in my specialty. Overall it was a great experience, this EHR has been an asset to our practice. Very happy and would gladly recommend.

Health information exchange has been an important focus of the Meaningful Use EHR Incentive Program, as sharing data between healthcare providers can improve care quality for patients, reduce care costs and eliminate the need for duplicate tests. Being able to share data, however, isn’t beneficial to patients or providers if the information being exchanged is incomplete. This often happens due to the fact that many medical devices, such as vital sign monitors, ventilators and defibrillators, do not integrate with EHRs.
